Getting Your PET Heat Right (Without the Headaches)

If you’re running high-speed PET blowing, you already know the oven is usually where things go sideways. It’s the classic bottleneck. If the heat doesn’t soak all the way from the surface to the core of the preform, you end up with uneven walls and bottles that just fail. It’s frustrating.
That’s why we built these replacement lamps for Husky HyPET systems. We wanted to actually fix that penetration problem.
The science bit (kept simple)
To get heat deeper into the plastic, we messed with the spectral output. We used a specific short-wave infrared (SWIR) profile and dialed up the wattage and voltage to push more radiant flux.
In plain English? The heat stops hanging around the “skin” of the preform and punches right through to the core. You get a consistent temperature across the whole wall. When you’re running high-speed cycles, that’s the only way to do it.
Built for the grind
We used heavy-wall quartz tubing because these things take a beating. Rapid cycling creates a ton of thermal stress, and cheap glass just won’t cut it.
The best part is the fit. They’re drop-in replacements. Whether you’re using R7s or SK15 connectors, they match the OEM specs exactly. We kept the tolerances tight because nobody wants to spend their afternoon fighting with mounting brackets during a change-out. It just slides in.
A quick reality check
Now, look—these aren’t magic.
When you switch to a lamp with higher penetration, you’re dumping more raw energy into your oven. That means your cooling blowers have to pull their weight.
If your vents are clogged or your cooling system is under-powered, you’re asking for trouble. You could overheat the chassis or warp your reflectors.
We built these to survive 24/7 production environments. They’ll give you the heat density you need to keep throughput high, as long as your machine can breathe.
