Stop Waiting on Your Oven to Warm Up
There is nothing more frustrating than standing around a deck oven, watching the clock, and wasting energy while you wait for it to finally hit temperature. It’s a drag on your labor and a drain on your power bill. We found a better way. Instead of those old-school heating elements, we use high-density quartz tubes. These things use infrared radiation to shoot heat directly into your product. You aren’t wasting time heating up every single inch of air in the oven cavity first; you’re just getting straight to the point.
How the heat actually works
Most ovens rely on convection, which—let’s be honest—is slow. Our quartz tubes work on a short-wave infrared spectrum. The result? You hit your target temp in seconds, not minutes. It’s fast. Really fast. And because we pair these with a PID controller, the system can tweak the power on the fly. You don’t have to worry about the temperature spiking too high or dipping too low. It stays rock solid, usually within about 2°C.
A quick word on the gear
We use high-purity fused quartz because it can take a beating. It handles extreme temperature swings without cracking, and the quartz shell protects the tungsten filament while letting the IR heat flow through. But here is a heads-up: keep an eye on your power density. If you go with a high-wattage tube, you’re putting a lot of stress on the oven’s chassis. Just make sure your insulation and vents are up to the task. If they aren’t, you might end up warping your oven frame, and nobody wants that.
Getting them installed (and keeping them alive)
These are designed as drop-in replacements. We used standard connectors, so swapping them out is a breeze. One big rule, though:**use gloves.**Quartz is incredibly sensitive to the oils on your skin. If you touch the glass with your bare hands, those oils create hotspots that will burn the tube out way faster than it should. Moving to quartz basically kills the preheating wait. You save energy on every single bake, your control is tighter, and things just move faster on the kitchen floor.
