Stop Fighting Your KHS Oven
If you’ve spent any time on the floor with a KHS blow molder, you know the headache of uneven heat. One minute everything is fine, and the next, you’re staring at bottles with weird wall thickness or that annoying pearlescent haze. When the heat field drifts, your scrap pile grows. It’s frustrating. That’s why we make replacement lamps that actually do what they’re supposed to. We don’t just make “similar” bulbs; we match the exact spectral output and thermal footprint your machine expects. The secret is in the winding Most KHS setups use shortwave IR lamps to get the PET preform hot, fast. But here’s the thing: a lot of generic tubes have “cold spots.” This usually happens because the filament isn’t centered or the quartz glass varies in thickness. We fix that by tightening the tolerances on the tungsten winding. We focus heavily on the wattage-per-centimeter ratio. Why? Because you don’t want the heat peaking in the middle and dropping off at the ends. You want a smooth, steady roast across the whole tube. No fancy mods required We use high-purity quartz glass because these things take a beating with constant thermal cycling. Depending on your oven, we use standard R7s or SK15 connectors. You just pop them in. No rewiring, no modifying sockets, no swearing at the hardware. A quick heads-up: we offer different voltage and wattage options to fit your power supply. Just keep in mind that if you cram higher wattage into a short tube, you’re increasing the heat density. Make sure your ventilation can handle the extra load, or you’ll just burn through your lamps faster. Life on the production floor These are direct replacements. You get a consistent thermal profile across the entire heating zone, which means you aren’t constantly tweaking oven settings every time you do a changeover. And because they cost less than the OEM versions, you can actually afford to replace them on a fixed schedule. You don’t have to wait for a lamp to pop and ruin a whole batch of preforms just to justify the cost of a new one. It just makes the day go smoother.
